"ABOUT US "

Pictured above is Ken with one of his all-time favorite dogs (June) we owned her, years ago. She was known to us as "June" her registered name was Select Ch. Shandee's Primrose Lady, she was a fun one to show and own, known to all of us as June or "June bug". She was "Special" in many ways, and I think you can tell it shows ! We still miss her.

We reside in Washington State, about forty miles north of Seattle.  We live on 11 acres, with lots of evergreen trees and mountains all around us.  Beautiful country and views.

We were both born and raised in Minnesota.  Ken comes from a family of 8 (2 brothers and 5 sisters).  I come from a family of 7(3 brothers and 3 sisters).  We moved to Washington state in 1966 because of a family employment offer here at the Boeing Company.  Ken is now a manager at Boeing.  In fact, my whole family, at one time or another has been a Boeing employee.

We met in junior high school, and actually started dating when Ken was 14 and I was 16 years old.  We actually dated for four years and got engaged when I was 19 and Ken was 17.  We marred August 19th of 1967.  Married now for 37 years, but dated 4 years prior to that.  So, a total time together of 41 years, to date.

In April of 1969 our first child, “Chad” was born.  He is an avid golfer (and really is near pro status soon to go for his “teaching pro-license”).  Chad and his wife of 7 years, “Dottie” live about 5 miles from us now in the Town of Snohomish, with our two grandchildren, Kristin and Zachary.  We do see them often and love every minute of being “grandpa and grandma” <VBG>!

In April of 1971 our daughter “Tracy” was born.  She has worked in several fields; banking and sales most of the time.  Tracy and “Darren” were married in June 7th  2003, and have a son, “Anthony”, born September 13, 2004  They live about 10 miles from us in the same town, and she looks real Scandinavian (blond) as her grandma Thomson was.

Our property where we house our dogs has about one acre fenced but we plan to fence off about another five acres just so the dogs can have room to run and have paddocks to exercise in.  Right now the dogs have their own yard (our backyard) and we have the front yard (where the dogs are only let to use for photos and to watch litters of puppies which is always fun)!

We have a kennel building which is for the older gals as we mainly have females and off this building we have 3 runs for these “oldies” and the whelping (birthing) run and pen is also in the kennel building which has heat and a large exercise pen for mom and pups to go outside from the whelping area.  There is a small ramp for the little tikes to get back inside.  All runs here are covered in heavy aluminum corrugated material.

The outside covered runs consist of  8 runs that are 20’ x 5’ and then two smaller ones that are 12’ x 5’ for little pups if needed.  We have a large fenced puppy pen which is about 50’ x 75’ for when we put the litter outside, once out of the inside kennel whelping area.

This set-up seems to be efficient and works well for all conditions.  We have been breeding German Shepherds for nearly 35 years as of this writing, and have lived on this same property for 29 years and really enjoy it out here in the country.

This state is beautiful and green and not as wet as others would have you think, but you all keep thinking that way so we don’t get over-populated here – hahaha!

Well, that is about all for now “About Us”. . . . glad you stopped by to see us!

Thanks!!
